Google Fails Citizenship Test
Google failed the citizenship test. Let me explain how I found this out.
The past few night I have been helping my girlfriend study for her citizenship test. She has been here for over 8 years, but with the political landscape we decided its best to make it official. (ironically enough it turned out that she technically is already a citizen due to a law change).
I used the booklet that they distribute to study for the exam to quiz her to see what things she did not know and ran the same questions through Google.
I used the Google and “I’m Feeling Lucky” to see what answers would come up.
Here is how Google did on naturalization test;
“Who was the first president of the United States” Google -”John Hanson”
“For how long is the President elected” Google - “Sarah Long elected ALA President”
“What holiday was celebrated for the first time by American colonists” Google “What are the colors of the flag”
“What are some of the basic beliefs of the Declaration of Independence” Google “That is very important”
If you do not believe me try these queries for yourself. Unless by the time this article gets popular and warrants google’s manual review :(
Also, I noticed that for most answers the result was either about.com, wikipedia, or wiki answers. Next time I think I will just go straight to one of those sources.

The problem with Google search bringing up wikipedia is that they are not always real accurate either and worse about.com is extremely inaccurate, at least in my area of expertise; Aquatics. I find article after article where their information is 100% wrong, yet Google (& unfortunately other search engines) keep serving them up.
