Google Chrome - Traitor to Firefox

Google has released yet another “free” product whose goal is to gather more user data, and create its own internet. This time around it is the Google Browser aka Google Chrome. Here is why I am so upset that Google has released another free product that will make them a boat load of money while screwing everybody else, in this case Firefox.

Firfox is an open source browser. If you are still using Explorer… STOP. Download Firefox immediately.

Heres why:

  • Faster Speed
  • Safer Browsing
  • Plug in Compatible
  • and More

Here was a community of people who like so many other people though of Google as this fun, friendly, company, not the for profit monster it really is. They even decided to make Google the default search engine for Firefox.

After years of being a faithful supporter here is how  Google thank Firefox. They give them the big ol’ middle finger and release their own browser that integrates with their other “free tools.” If this isn’t proof that Google is trying to become “the internet” then you need to open up your eyes to the truth.

Google is a for profit corporation, their monopolistic practices rival those of Microsoft!

Firefox has no fears. Chrome sucks. It doesn’t work with proxies correctly (it loads half of pages and images if you’re behind a proxy), and it’s not innovative. It uses both the Gecko and Webkit engines like an awful bastardized hybrid.

It comes with an HTML debugger which is just like Firebug and some of the neat little things we’ve seen in Opera. It’s not as stable as they claim and my co-worker has crashed the entire browser before.

I understand as a programmer what they’re trying to do by making it faster and using separate memory spaces, not just per tab but per page, but not only does the app still crash, it’s simply not innovative. It’s nothing new and Firefox has a lot more 3rd party plugins that help it out.

Firefox has nothing to worry about.

I’ve been using Firefox for as long as I can remember. I use it, not just because of its safer nature, but because it’s constantly becoming better and it’s got a crew of people dedicated to ONE THING, and that’s making a better browser.

Mozilla isn’t a company trying to monopilize, and that’s why they’re so good. It’s as simple as that.

I don’t like Google much, either, but in the interests of fairness, it’s worth pointing out that Google paid Mozilla approximately $200M USD in order to be the default search provider in Firefox. So it really wasn’t something Firefox just did as a favor for Google.

The big problem with firefox is that it cannot be customized by Windows Group Policy. Group Policy is a vital tool for domain admins. Relase some free, easy to install, policy templates and I bet you Firefox usage within corporations will soar.

Yeah. I only sift with Chrome to see if it’s comparable. But I surf and use diligently: Opera. Firefox is too slow. Chrome could be…well..evil.

I downloaded Chrome just to try it but don’t think Firefox needs to worry. Chrome is just not as good or as intuitive as Firefox. Plus you can’t even integrate your google bookmarks into Chrome. How lame is that? BTW the new igoogle with the stupid tabs really sucks.
