Google Position on Microsoft Acquisition of Yahoo

What the hell is going on in the search world. Microsoft is trying to take over Yahoo! At first I had the same reaction as everyone else, Microsoft the kind of Monopolies making a bid on the number two player in the US search share OH NO. Well the more I thought about it and the more I read, the more I realized that this would not be such a bad thing.

This move by Microsoft will help create a valid competitor to Google. If you do not believe me explain why their stock dropped to a four year low? Google is scared it finally realized that it can’t keep up with the facade of being your friend while slowly creeping into every aspect of your online use, not to mention offline.

Google is getting scared so they released this official statement on Google’s position on Microsoft and Yahoo

When I tell people I own a website dedicated to spreading the word about Google, I always get asked, “Why does google suck?” The truth of the matter is, I was like you and believed that Google was the greatest thing ever. How could you not love multicolored logo? And then all the free services they started to offer, amazing. Lets not forget about Google Earth…. you mean I can see my house from a satellite image whoooaa. One day though, they crossed the line and opened up my eyes to what they were really doing.

Ask.com the little search engine that could, has finally come out with another progressive feature to separate itself from the pack. The feature is called Ask Eraser, and unlike other search engines, it is an opt out feature to make sure your searches are not saved in their database. With the recent Yahoo! Leaking Data and even more recently Facebooks Beacon debacle this is a great step by Ask.com.

If you want to keep your information safe then I strongly recommend you start using Ask. Google, Yahoo, and MSN are not currently allowing for this feature. Lets see how quickly they will follow suit.
